Login name length

I have a user with a NT login name of 3 characters that I map via username
map to his VOS login name of 14 characters. It seems there is a limit of 12
for the SAMBA side of the mapping. I also tried a non mapped user that was >
12 and get the same result.

The symptom is that he can access all guest shares, but trying to access his
home dir gives an error.

I have searched to no avail so far.
