Very possibly.  2.0.7 fixed several known W2K bugs.  Try it and see.

At the Samba end, yes.  (And of course change the WORKGROUP= line in
smb.conf.)  At the PDC end, you have to remove the machine trust
account.  The easiest way to do this in NT is in Server Manager.
