I have encrypt passwords = yes, security = domain, and yet I am unable to
use smbpasswd -r pdc to change password on NT 4.0 SP5 PDC

Much appreciated! I hadn't guessed that (my site
only had NT clients, never NT PDCs. Natural abhorance
of things MS...).
