Try without the redirection of the output, and not logging out

also: have you looked into using "screen" instead?

Subject: WARNING: you need to rerun autoconf

I have downloaded the latest CVS source on Monday, Dec, 18, then again on
Friday, Dec, 22, and in both cases, after I get the WARNING you need to
rerun autoconf, before a 'make' or 'make install' function.

What I do is the following...
$ make clean

$ ./configure --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc --with-privatedir=/etc
--with-lockdir=/var/lock/samba/ --with-smbmount --with-syslog --with-profile

$ make > ~/make.log &
 (so I can log out of the machine while it compiles the source)

$ tail -f ~/make.log
 (to see how the compile is coming along)

$ make install

in both of the 'make' commands I am told in the first line of the output
data, the warning message. did I miss something in the text files about
this warning, or has it not been addressed? Perhaps this is unique to my
machine?j Either way, I have been ignoring it, because the program compiles
fine, and works fine after the compile is done.
