Do you have any other proof that ignoring this SMB (which
is all the message is saying) is causing problems ? Why do
you think this is so ?

Changing permissions to make a file read only would not
be done via an NTioctl, but via either a NTSetSecurityDescriptor
or SetFileAttributes - do you see this call failing ?
