> We had samba 2.06 up and running for several days. All of the servers are rebooted over the weekend. After reboot, the init scripts would not start. Recompiling and starting by hand would not start. Nothing has changed according the the sys admin folks on the two boxes running 2.06. 2.05a and 1.19p18 was tried with the same results.
> What is left to check?
If you mean ./nmbd -D and ./smbd -D as by hand, not mutch
you might want to check the log-files, diskspace, memory, etc...
doing a gdb ./nmbd and then run -D,
or gdb ./smbd and then run -D might help
