I am the one who made /usr/sbin/samba a hard copy of the file
/etc/rc.d/init.d/smb in the first place.

I did this because SCO has a command "netbios" that accepts the directives
"start" and "stop" and a user wrote in with the suggestion that a similar
tool for samba would be a good idea.

It seems that no-one uses it now except for myself! Dooh!

If you would prefer it to be removed I have no objections.
