samba 2.0.6 and NetApp filer

I'm not sure what you're actually experiencing but there were two problems
with using smbmount and filers.

1) It just didn't work. This was fixed in Data ONTAP 5.3.2.

2) Once the connection problem was fixed, we discovered a second problem in
that the last character was dropped from file names when using "ls." This
problem was fixed in Data ONTAP 5.3.4 (the most current "early access"
version).

There are a number of reasons to upgrade to 5.3.4 if you can (including CIFS
performance, general enhancements and various bug fixes).

Best Regards,
