Thus, why everyone in the Samba team hates smbmount :-)  

It's simultaneously one of the most useful Samba patches and a gigantic
headache to keep functional, as far as I've seen.  It'd have been ditched
ages ago if there weren't just so many users who love it to death, myself
included ;-)

Ditch smbmount and it should compile.
