Must daemons run on ports 137-139?

I have the samba daemons running on ports other than 137-139.  I can
connect from the same machine using smbclient with the -p option, but I
cannot view the shares or map the drives from a windows 95 machine.

Does this only work if using ports 137-139???  Please help.
