Peter P., who first described the problem, was able to send us (text) 
output from snoop.  I will forward you a copy.  At present, none of us 
are in a position to replicate the problem, but I am certainly interested 
so I may see what kind of meddling I can get into.  I'll let you know if 
I get things set up.
