MYSQL*, MYSQL_ROW* etc

i've forgotten how we deal with unknown data types appearing in proto.h
when compiling up with different options.  actually, i figured just have a
look at matt's ldap.c code: it looks like he has a solution but i bet it
produces compiler warnings :-)

what's the autoconf way?
