I have 2 ethernet cards on for a local lan and one for the internet I need
to specify samba to use the second device eth1, the simple fix would be to
simply rearrange the order in which the ethernet cards are loaded up, I'd
like to avoid having to do that since if there is a way around that I'd
really like to know.

interfaces isn't the solution (I don't believe) because I am a DHCP client
to a server which hands out multiple subnet addresses.

Everyone on the network sees my address as being 192.168.1.1 is the
problem.
