samba 2.0b5 and NetworkApp Cifs

hi all,
   im still trying to get my NetworkAppliance Filer to provide CIFS
services using samba as a PDC. Last round - samba 19.xx - it lost
because both sides could not agree on language, quoting Luke:

 the client requests unicode strings: the server responds "no, sorry, we
 only do non-unicode strings".  the client _ignores_ this, and keeps on
 using unicode strings.

now the problem seems different, but still nogo. So if somebody out
there is willing to help ...
