OS/2 extended attributes

The problem is that we don't have the luxury of extending the
underlying filesystem, like Novell does.

Ideally, we want to convince the client that the server is not EA
capable and that it should maintain it's own EAs for files (probably
storing them in some well known but obscurely named file in the
directory). I don't know if that is possible. I'd suggest you do some
tests with a FAT filesystem on an NT server and a OS/2 client and try
to see how that works. Do EAs work in that situation? If so, how?
