Some help with broadcasts through a Linux system

dan, something else occurred to me: is there anything to stop you from
configuring all your clients to use the remote subnet's WINS server?  they
can't exactly stop you from doing that, after all!  if they _do_ complain
then you can make a case for having a campus-wide WINS service and this
being one good example.
