	Personally I'd hide the back-end behind a function,
	so it didn't necessarily depend on one particular
	ldap (;-)), and look any time I didn't find a 
	name.  I'd also be tempted to put in a TTL-like 
	counter, to ensure that the back-end is looked at 
	with some regularity.  

	The WINS TTLs are a bit long for this purpose:
	they're 6 hours to 3 days (:-))
