Yes. The whole uid/gid<->sid mapping thing, in so far as Samba (the
fileserver) is concerned is a cosmetic issue. The current approach works
fine, but hides to the NT user the fact that his/her Unix account is
equivalent to his/her NT account for that user (if it actually is).
That said, PAM_NTDOM needs SURS and the usermap feature of Samba could
be implemented with SURS and if you bother to do all that in the first
place then you might as well apply SURS to the uid/gid<->sid mapping
that Samba fileservers do.
