tail with smbclient or libsmb?

Hi, I need to be able to tail(1), on a Unix (Solaris) host, files
residing on an SMB share. Smbfs won't do because it only works on
Linux.

Is there any way to do this? Smbclient does not have such a feature. Has
anyone written such a tool with libsmb?

I just don't want to re-invent the wheel :)

I've tried a simple search of the list archives...
