Sorry about the compilation problems.  This is all part of my on-going 
wrestling match with make proto.

I included a main() function in debugparse.c for testing purposes, but had
commented it out.  I forgot that mkproto.awk doesn't fully understand
comments.  I've now more fully commented it out and mkproto.awk doesn't
squawk any more. 

I'm fixing the other issues.
