i get, due to redundant includes of rpc/clnt.h via various other rpc/ include files, a redeclaration of __wait in every single file compiled. i removed an explicit include of rpc/clnt.h, this fixed the problem on slackware 3.4, it didn't quite fix it on other linuxen.
