Syntax TAS -vs- Sun Cascade

I was wrong about Syntax's TAS: it's not the same code as
Sun is selling as ``Cascade'': it's actually an independant
implementation of SMB. This means it's not the AT&T code either,
which was derived from AS/U. Thererfor it's not affected
by the kaffuffle about NT source code.

They've a performance comparison on their web site, at
http://www.syntax.com/totalnet/performance53.htm.
Sun's cascade is derived from AS/U...
The Sun white paper is at
http://www.sun.com/servers/enterprise/sw/cascade/, and
Syntax has a performance comparison at
http://www.syntax.com/totalnet/performance53.htm.

DISCLAIMER: I work for Sun. The above opinion is not
significantly affected by the sbus connector in my neck.
