smbpasswd -a problem

Well, I see this message reported over and over again in the log.smb file:

[1998/12/03 09:56:59, 1] smbd/server.c:(627)
  smbd version 2.0.0-beta1 started.
  Copyright Andrew Tridgell 1992-1998
[1998/12/03 09:56:59, 1] smbd/files.c:(218)
  file_init: Information only: requested 10000 open files, 4086 are
available.

But I have loggin set to log.%m in the smb.conf file and the machine
specific information has *NO* log information from when the error occured.
This is with the default log level.
