Trailing backslashes in Makefile

	Righto, thanks: I didn't realize that was the
	bug you meant.

	In parsing Makefiles in a previous life we found 
	there were two distinct warring camps on how that 
	should be interpreted...  One interpretation
	worked on SunOS 4, another on Solaris (:-))
