nmbd interface usage

I have run into a strange problem. I have a system (Digital Unix 4.0D)
with 5 network interfaces. In my smb.conf I have

interfaces = 206.76.17.2/255.255.255.0 206.76.20.2/255.255.255.0 \
	     206.76.21.2/255.255.255.0 206.76.22.2/255.255.255.0

So, the 5th interface is not bound to smbd. This same machine runs nmbd,
and I assumed it would only talk on the above interfaces. The above
interfaces are all a single ATM adapter with multiple LUNs. The 5th
interface is an ethernet card. It appears to me that nmbd ONLY binds to
the ethernet adapter. If I block ports 135-139 on my router for the
network of the ethernet adapter, all of my WINS traffic dies. I can't get
anywhere on my network. I remove the filter and everything works again.

Can someone confirm or deny my suspisions? Thanks... Oh, this has been
happening for a while now with all the 2.0 alphas and the current 2.1alpha
as well.
