[samba-soc] Problem setting up a pgp key ...

How to get a

 "  ssh2 public key
and signature from pgp key "

When I run the command

    gpg --detach-sign --armor

I get the following messg ..

> gpg: failed to create temporary file 
> `/root/.gnupg/.#lk0xf7005998.alankaar.lan.neolinuxsolutions.com.3388': 
> No such file or directory
> gpg: keyblock resource `/root/.gnupg/secring.gpg': general error
> gpg: failed to create temporary file 
> `/root/.gnupg/.#lk0xf7005cb8.alankaar.lan.neolinuxsolutions.com.3388': 
> No such file or directory
> gpg: keyblock resource `/root/.gnupg/pubring.gpg': general error
> gpg: no default secret key: secret key not available
> gpg: signing failed: secret key not available


Very new to this .. Plz help ...

Also I would like to know how to do it in Windows XP
