Samba in an NT Domain

Is there any good location I can find up to date documentation on what I can or cannot do?  I'm looking into moving my NT DCs to samba, but I can only do so if Samba can also act as a BDC (I read somewhere about an LDAP/2 PDC combo offering similar capabilities to a BDC).  Could someone please point me to a document explaining what samba is capable of this moment (stable, cvs or otherwise).
