Windows DC and Linux Client

Hopefully someone can help me.

we have a Network where is a NT DomainController and any Windows clients.
Now I want to connect with a linux client to the DC. Is there a way to do
this?
I have configured the IP and subnetmask on the linux client but I couldn´t
see
any of the windows computers in my network. On the windows pc is the linux
client also invisible.
