Enable/Disable encryption on clients

Hello everyone,

I'm in the process of moving my clients from a workgroup/no encryption
server to a domain/encryption server. Couldn't get my Win2k client to
join the domain so I decided to test with a win95 PC to begin with. 

If I disable (i.e. change the value to 0) the encryption entry in the
registry or remove it altogether my PC still seems to be able to
authenticate okay to the non-encrypted server and not to the encrypted
server. I have disabled password caching (so there are no local pwl
files). Is there more to this process ?
