Error joing a NT Domain under Samba 2.2.0

Im having a strange problem joing a NT4 Domain even though ive done this
before quite a few times but only on 2.0.7
I'm getting:

cli_net_auth2: Error NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
cli_nt_setup_creds: auth2 challenge failed
modify_trust_password: unable to setup the PDC credentials to machine
NTS_APPL1. Error was : NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED.
2001/05/03 01:09:43 : change_trust_account_password: Failed to change
password for domain MSI.NET.
Unable to join domain MSI.NET.

I did add the Net-BIOS name of my Samba server to the NT Server Manager for
Domains before i attempted to run
smbpasswd -j msi.net -r nts_appl1

What brainfart mistake did I do?
Im using Samba 2.2.0 (samba-2.0.7-20000425.i386.rpm from samba.org) on
RedHat 7.0

Does anyone has any ideas?
