Samba 2.2aplha3

I have just got the latest CVS of samba2.2

I have tried to get a w2k machine to join the domain, but with no luck.
I made the machine account as follows

adduser -g machines -d /dev/null -s /bin/false -n machinename$

smbpasswd -a -m machinename

when I try to get the w2k box to join , I get the following error.


Your computer could not be joined to the domain because of the following
error:

      The credentials supplied conflict with an existing set of
credentials.


Any help on this would be muchly appreciated.
