log.smb errors

Hi all:
I am running Samba 2.0.7 on an HP netserver running RH Linux 6.2.  I have a
small network with Win9x but mostly winnt machines.  In looking at my
log.smb I see the following error:

/lib/util_sock.c:client_name (1007)
gethostbyaddr failed for 192.168.1.x

where x is an address on my network.  This message is repeated over and over
for every client on the network.  Any idea what is causing this? BTW this
same machine is also running DHCP for my network clients and Samba is the
WINS server.
