W2K logon problem after joining a domain

I seem to be having the same problem as the one described in:

I suspect it's due to the Solaris 7 OS. Has anybody tried 2.2.2 with
Solaris 7 and with more than 8 characters in a password ?

I'll try with Solaris 8.
