win2k advanced server ..cant join samba PDC?

Hello,
Is there some issue as regards to an Win2K Advanced server being unable to 
join a Samba PDC with Samba-2.2.0 (release)?

Trying to joing the Samba domain using root ID just comes back with "The 
specified user does not exist"
