Although it is specific to OpenLDAP (which is only one implementation of the
LDAP protocol, it still offers a very good introduction to the concepts.

Of you have more questions re LDAP after this there is a list called
OpenLDAP-General (http://www.openldap.org/lists/) where you can get pretty
much all your questions re the LDAP protocol answered.
