Weird Log entries

Are the messages that you are seeing on the console being logged in any
of the other log file?  You may want to look at the syslog.conf file to
determine what classes of messages are being logged to the console.

Another possibility is that these messages are being printed to the
standard output or standard error of the "smbd" process.  You might try
starting smbd is this manner:

sh#  smbd -D > /tmp/smbd.stout.log 2> /tmp/smbd.stderr.log

Hopefully someone else on the list will recognize these errors and
suggest a way to fix the problem that is causing the messages. :-)
