wierd logon problems

Sorry if this type of question has been posted before, but the search
link is dead on the samba web page.

I have a Linux 6.1 server running Samba 2.0.5a with a few win 95/98
clients.

A logon problem has recently appeared:

When a user types in their password and clicks OK, windows pops up an
error that says something like "domain password not correct or access
to domain server has been denied". They usually have to retype their
password and click OK 2-4 more times before the server lets them in.
This happens everyday for every user.

It used to work. I don't know what changed.

Following is my smb.conf and samples from the samba log files:

<smb.conf>
