2.0.6 logon problem

(On Mandrake Linux 2.2.14-15mdk)
In 2.0.6, I would have Win98 clients not able to login with "wrong
password" errors, but eventually login can go thru after ignoring the
error and clicking "ok" at the login prompt for a couple of times.
Here is the log entry(level 5) for a typical error situation in 2.0.6.
