corrupt profiles

Hi

As I got some corruptet roaming profiles on our network (=the
profile isn't saved to the server on logout anymore) i want to
completely delete this profile on the server and on all workstations
(win98),
so i can recreate them later from a template.
But deleting the profile dir and deleting all cached copies on the win
clients and
deleting the user doesn't seem to suffice. The problem remains after
recrating the user and the profile.
Any idea what i may have forgot (maybe SID in the registry of the
win-clients) ?
