File Locking

I have samba 1.9.18p10 running on a SGI machine with Irix OS.  Connected
to the server is a number of macs and pcs.  I have the macs running
fine, but the pcs seem to lock there files when they place anything on
the server.

Its probable something simple but we haven't had the server long and
don't know much about it.
