Ok .. perhaps ist a stupid FAQ error, but I don't get it: 
(tng 1.1 from today, fresh install)

there is NO /tmp/.msrpc .. its in /usr/local/samba/var/.msrpc, and there
is NO .samr
directory in that one. (there is a "samr" socket in there although)
