Hmmm, so you're planning to export this via a network filesystem?  I
suppose that could work.  If you are thinking NFS, make sure the client
boxes aren't root-squashed.  Also, don't forget to do proper locking on
the smbpasswd file, though, for obvious reasons.

Or did you mean something else?
