I removed these by modifying the print command in smb.conf to

print command = lpr -r -P%p -h %s

What do these banner pages look like?  Do they come out after the print
job, and consist of a few lines on the top of the page?

If so, I have seen them on a RH6.0 system, but do not know what causes them.
