Perhaps a revamp of the docs, or maybe renaming (aliasing??) some
of the smb.conf parameters would help.

some sort of new notation maybe? like:

browser.domain.master = no
browser.os.level = NT  (with some sort of DOS,Win9x,NT, or NT++
setting).
since you only need to be > than 1 OS, you dont NEED os level = 20,
you just need a 2, 17 or 33 really.  So Samba can either =
DOS, Win9x, or NT, or be 1 level higher if needed.	

security.security.mode = server
security.password.server = <DOMAIN CONTROLLER>

to help illustrate the types of things that the commands do??

i.e.

wins.activate.server = no
wins.server = w.x.y.z
