now, i don't want anyone asking for this to be added as a feature to
samba.

... but if you put "fstype = CDFS" in a [sharename], and put an
AUTORUN.INF file in the root of the share, windows will run the program at
the pathname listed in AUTORUN.INF when that share is first accessed, like
it was a CDROM drive.  i'm sure that if you configured samba as a BDC, you
could get a script to view that share on first user-login.

this is a very easy way to upgrade all your windows workstations.
