I haven't check code yet, but when I attempt to manipulate smbpasswd using samedit, samr can't open the smbpasswd file (permission). smbpasswd is owned by root and chmod 600. Note that I can login and mount shares from w2k, I just can't join the domain or access smbpasswd from samedit.
