if you are not running the daemons that are described as required in lars'
FAQ, you will find that certain things will fail.

as a reminder, if you want a PDC, you will need:

- smbd

- nmbd

- samrd

- netlogond

- lsarpcd

- winregd

- wkssvcd

- srvsvcd

anything else is optional: these are not.
