Samba TNG

I hate to ask, but "the next generation" tells me nothing ... is this sa
seperate "strain" that is being worked on, or is this pretty much 'Samba
3'?  the impression, possibly falsely, that I've been getting is that some
ppl are working on TNG, seperate from the one that eeryone is using righ
tnow, so are there "two samba efforts", or is TNG effectly the
"development version"?
