It does. This is for any network connection, including any clients
Samba tries to service. You mentioned that you were running WINS,
but do you run NT's Win-based DNS complement? If so, you could
simply correct /etc/resolve.conf to point to it. Or do you have the
clients listed in /etc/hosts?
