I am not sure of the TNG implications of this, but I
believe the limiting factor here was not the Samba server
process(es), but the backend password database.  smbpasswd
didn't support the concept of a password expiration, thus,
Samba couldn't require a password change.  This was supposedly
being addressed only by the LDAP backend, which of course,
is still a little new itself.
